What we want?
To build a platform to enhance community participation in carbon capture, utilization, and storage activities. We look for a huge scale operation to tackle the present and near future necessities of industries with great CO2 emissions.
What we do?
We have done the research to find a process to catch, utilize and store the CO2 that is in the air, and that can be done in a decentralize manner. This process is based on current available technics.
We will coordinate the activities of the participant of the platform we want to build. The process is simple, grow bamboo in large containers, create long lasting products like furniture and construction materials with the bamboo wood, and store the CO2 for more than five hundred years with the production of Biochar.
Our company will be accountable for the “custody” of the captured carbon in a way that we can ensure that it will be stored for more than five hundred years.
We are willing to listen to the needs of entrepreneurs interested in Carbon Removal and other participants and collaborate with them to find solutions. We will also share our experience on developing solutions and our contacts with this carbon removal community.
Who we are?
We are project developers that change our former jobs to begin a company in the carbon removal industry. We have experience solving complex problems, such as those faced by a developing country that works to modernize its economy. We have worked in multidisciplinary teams and have materialized the solutions in a feasible form.
We have created a Startup focused on the capture of CO2 from the atmosphere.
Our ways
The strength of our vision is the importance to work with communities, developing efficient ways to collaborate with them, for example, making easier to exchange the technics and experience that the community develops. We are willing to collaborate with the carbon capture and storage community.
We will share the data that we have collected about the cost and the carbon that is captured and emitted during the process (its Life Cycle Assessment).
• The efficiency of carbon capture is based on photosynthesis.
• Storage permanence of captured CO2 is expected to be of more than five hundred years producing Biochar.
• The opportunity cost of the main resources to be used is low, because the bamboos are going to be cultivated in artificial environments. Now, we have already planted bamboos in large containers. this process avoids common problems that other alternatives associated with large scale monocultures face.
• We are adding value to the bamboo wood assuring that in all the process it will have a net negative carbon footprint and the wood will be used to make high value products such as furniture and construction materials. In our business model, we plan that all the process of carbon capture and storage might be profitable even without selling carbon credits.
• We expect that all net captured carbon will be additional due to bamboos are going to be cultivated in containers placed on sites that are unsuitable for forestry or agriculture, and those sites will continue to be used for this purpose, the sites might be parking lots, highways, roads, and industrial parks.
• Installations of the bamboo containers might be built on a large scale having positive impact in the places where they will be installed (more oxygen and good appearance).
The Challenge

Capture huge quantities of the CO2 that is in the air so the temperature of the Earth will not rise more 1.5o C from the preindustrial era.
The Platform we want to build
A unique platform that allows anyone interested in Climate Change to carry out activities to Capturing CO2 from the Air. You will be able to have an impact in the real-World developing activities such as planting bamboo in large containers in your home or business, design and create products with bamboo wood or producing biochar and using it as a soil amendment.
We are sure that you will find that you are able to do one or more of these activities no matter which part of the World you live.
In a friendly interface you will be able to register your carbon capture activities and have the adequate material to learn how to do perform them.
You will find out what your carbon footprint is and what you should do if you want to offset it.
The Platform will coordinate the carbon capture community to assure that the capture is long lasting and that it considers the direct and indirect emissions that it can generate and avoids the double accounting of the carbon captured.

i. Learn how to Capture Carbon.
With an account in our Platform, you can see tutorial and videos describing how you can grow bamboos in large containers, how you can make different bamboo wood products and how to produce biochar.
In this way you will be able to Capture the CO2 that is in the air, to utilize the CO2 captured and store it out of the air for more than 500 years.
ii. Create Carbon Capture Projects.
You can do all the carbon capture activities in the real World. When you register them, the platform will measure the amount of CO2 that you captured, utilized or stored. Also, the platform will measure the direct and indirect emissions of CO2 that your projects activities can generate and subtract these amounts from the carbon you have captured to take only into account the net CO2 captured. The platform will also show you the coordination activities that you may do to have a long-lasting CO2 sequestration.
You can do one or some of these activities:
Plant bamboo in large containers.
Design new bamboo wood products.
Elaborate bamboo wood products.
Produce Biochar.
You can do the planning of your projects doing simulations with the platform that allows you measure the amounts of CO2 that you could captured and the estimated costs of the project.
iii. Interact with the Community.
You can see on a map the closest sites near your home where you can get the inputs you need to build your carbon capture project. Also, you can coordinate to people near you, or in other country to do parts of your capture project, for example you can design new bamboo wood stuff and you can coordinate to someone to manufacture your product. You can communicate with the Fruktu Carbon Capture community all over the world.
iv. Know your Carbon Footprint (and compensate it).
In our daily activities we generate in a direct or indirect way CO2 emissions, like those related the transport, the heating and air-conditioning and with the products we use, among other activities. With our Platform you will be able to measure your CO2 emissions. The platform will give you some advice to reduce your CO2 emissions and how to reduce your carbon footprint.
And what’s more you will know how to compensate your CO2 emissions doing some of the activities to capture, utilize or store the CO2, also with the platform you will be able to pay someone else to carry out these activities for you.
